My main acquaintance with the Pokemon franchise took place a long time ago through the anime of the same name. And it could be roughly divided into two aspects. The first is full-fledged battles, when two trainers meet in the arena in a duel. The second is direct fishing in the wild. When someone sneaks up on a monster, throws a pokeball and catches it. The games in the series have always done well with the first aspect. Over the years, the sophistication of the system has only increased, adding depth. With the second aspect, everything is much more complicated. For a long time it was impossible to simply and simply hunt. One way or another you had to enter into battle and only in this way catch new individuals. And Pokemon Arceus became a small revolution.
Finally, the game has a full-fledged system of, let’s say, hunting. It’s nice that they immediately put a certain depth into it. Each Pokemon has certain habits. Some are not afraid of people at all, others will run away when they see you, and others will immediately rush into battle. It makes you act a certain way. Sneak up on some, catch others immediately and without fear. But even here it’s not so simple. Every animal has a resistance level. Some will easily fall into your network, while others will resist to the last or run away. Add here systems that have migrated from past games. Each Pokemon has its own habitat and activity time. There are especially strong individuals – alphas. You won’t be able to catch them just like that, and it will be much more difficult to defeat them. The start of the system is good, but there is still room for improvement. If in future games there will be more simulation and some species can be pitted against others, for example, that would be great.
There are also changes to the combat system. Purely cosmetic, but nice. Now you are not tied to one point in the arena. Once in battle, you can move your character and view the enemy Pokemon from all angles. What changed the style of play were the styles. There are only 3 of them: normal, dexterous and strong. The first one does not provide any advantages, but there are no disadvantages either. The other two differ in the frequency and strength of the attack. In one case you will attack more often, and in the other you will hit harder, but walk less often. Otherwise this is a familiar system. You can carry 6 Pokemon with you, each of them gains experience when defeated, except for those that were defeated. At certain levels new abilities are added to you. By attacking the ability the required number of times, you will open up the possibility of Agile and Strong styles. And if necessary, you can use consumables, for example, healing potions.
Separately, I would like to mention https://betshubscasino.co.uk/mobile-app/ the noble Pokemon. That’s what the locals call them here. To combat them, you can use all available options at once. At the beginning you bombard them with real-time projectiles to weaken them. And then you can send one of the Pokemon to start a turn-based battle. It’s not super difficult to do all this, but it’s fun to fight.
There is a semblance of an open world here. The general map is divided into regions, but between them you need to load into base camps. Locations can be quite extensive, and in order not to stomp on your own for a long time, you will quickly be given a riding Pokemon. Subsequently there will be more of these. Useful items can be crafted directly from your inventory. You can collect items for it on maps. Sent a Pokemon to a tree with fruits and now you have 5 berries in your pocket. The inventory is naturally not bottomless.
The center of your peaceful life will be the village of Jubilife. You can buy various goods from local merchants. Some are responsible for beauty: outfits and hairstyles, others for useful things. Crafting and purchasing ingredients, pumping Pokemon. All unnecessary animals can be sent to rest in the pasture and a new team can be assembled there.
Here you can collect secondary orders. They give useful consumables for them. And also the main tasks. All of them are somehow related to the research mission. As usual, we need to collect a complete collection of information about Pokemon – Pokédex. Now it has a number of variations for obtaining score points. For example, you need to carry out certain attacks in battle or find different individuals or just stupidly catch. By collecting 10 of these points, you will fully unlock information about the Pokemon. How he attacks, what he likes and what he has weaknesses for. You will also be awarded Galactic Expeditionary Team points for your research progress. For them you can get a new rank, which will open up new territories for you to explore. Also, the leadership of the corps and the local professor Laventon willingly hand out tasks that smoothly lead you through the plot, introducing you to the mechanics and structure of this world. You will meet a large number of interesting characters along the way, but I won’t talk about it in particular so as not to spoil the impressions. I’ll just say the beginning. Your character has fallen through a space-time portal into a new unfamiliar world. Your allies think it has something to do with the legendary Pokemon Arceus. Now you have to prove your usefulness in a new place and at the same time unravel the mystery of why you were drawn to this place.
All of the above are definitely advantages of the game. From a gameplay point of view, it turned out to be a well-filled complex game. I haven’t played many games, but it’s definitely the best I’ve ever seen. But what I can’t praise is the appearance and technical part. In the same village, the characters basically stand like idols. Stylistically, everything is done well, but the square textures just hurt your eyes. The game looks like Zelda Bres of the Wild, but even though the last one was released 4 years ago, in my opinion it looks better. Having a completely open world. The draw distance also leaves much to be desired. Pokemon and objects literally appear and disappear before your eyes. In this regard, I was especially amused by the seller near the transparent counter. It becomes visible only when you go behind the counter. On a portable device the situation with graphics is better, but on a big screen, of course, it’s quite sad. Specifically for Russian players, a more significant disadvantage will be the lack of Russian localization in any form. Even the subtitles are not translated here. There is a micro hope that localization will be added in a future patch, but it’s hard to believe. As always, if you are not fluent in English, we recommend Gul translator, whose application can translate directly from the camera in real time. Its quality is not that good, but you can get the gist.
From me, new Pokemon 8.5 points. In general, I don’t care about the graphics, but the gameplay here is deep and interesting. Nice to see the series moving forward. The authors clearly do not want to drive proven mechanics all their lives, but rather develop their brainchild. If the lack of Russian language does not scare you, then I advise you to join.
